|
Marge was born in Chicago on May 3, 1917 to Joseph and Marianne Burke. She was 1 of 9 children; Violet, Florence, Harriet, Gertrude, Raymond, Leo, Irene and Eddie. She met the love of her life, Mike, at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago in 1939, and they married on May 29, 1943. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last year. Marge worked for George Hallas (longtime leader of the NFL Chicago Bears) for ten years, before settling down to do an excellent job of raising a happy family and providing a loving and welcoming home. In 1976, her husband, Mike, was offered and accepted a job transfer by 3M to move from Chicago to Camarillo. Although Marge was sad to leave her family and friends in Chicago, she soon came to love living in Southern California and referred to her home here in Camarillo as Shangri La. She also made some wonderful friends and a very best friend (her California sister); Elaine Bridges, who always called her Margie Morning Star. Mike and Marge traveled all around California and had many great adventures. Marge truly lived a long and happy life and touched so many people with her warmth and humor. We will miss her every day, but we know that she is in the loving arms of the Lord, and happily reunited with those who have passed before her that she missed so much. She is survived by her husband; Mike and their children; Mike Klein (wife Dory), Marian Stanforth, Marcia Hoover (husband Doug) and Mark Klein (wife Deedee), and grandchildren; Brian Hoover, Kristen Hoover, Brittany Klein and Nicholas Klein. She was preceded in death by her first son, Edward, by all but one of her sisters and brothers, and by so many of her loving friends. Our family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Buena Vista Hospice and to Zeny, Gloria and Angie, the caregivers. They provided so much kind support to not only Marge, but our entire family. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 21 and the rosary will be at Griffin Family Funeral Chapel at 7 p.m. on this day. The service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 22 at St. Mary Magdalene Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo, Ca. Arrangements under the direction of Griffin Family Funeral Chapels 1075 E.
