Edna Pearl Johnson, 84, of Thousand Oaks, passed away on May 1 after suffering with Alzheimer's for almost 10 years.

Edna was born on June 14, 1925, in Snyder, Texas, and was the eldest of 12 children. Edna met her future husband, Cy, while working in the library at the Pyote Air Base in Texas in February 1945. They were married on March 8, 1946, and she started her married life as a military wife.

For 64 years, one month and 22 days she was the PERFECT wife and mother while she nurtured and supported her husband and raised their three children. She did all the cooking and housekeeping with a beautiful smile upon her face. The family traveled to many countries while Cy was still serving in the U.S. Air Force and also for Rotary International events. Edna had numerous talents and enjoyed Chinese brush painting and teaching young people about the value of art. She participated in many Rotary Inner Wheel activities for several years. Edna will NEVER be forgotten by the many people whose lives she touched. The family sadly let her go, but will look forward to joining her later in a much more perfect world.

Edna is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Cy; her children, Deborah McCoy, Cy D. Johnson and Janet Johnson. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Jesse McCoy and Kelly McCoy, as well as her sisters, Betty, Bea, Marie and Mary, plus her brothers, Roy and William.

Refreshments will immediately follow at the church. Church services will be conducted by Dr. Gary Alan Dickey.
