Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Jo; daughter, Betty Louise Taylor of Lockeford, Calif.; grandson and wife, Scott and Jeannie Taylor of Camarillo, Calif.; brother, Richard of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Rose of Bethlehem, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lew was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Lew was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. In 1981 he retired from civil service at Point Mugu, but his occupations included ironworker, electronics technician, communications specialist, real estate broker, and good friend to all. Lew was an active member in the Pleasant Valley Lions Club where he was named a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was also a member of the Oxnard Elks No. 1443. The many friends he had and the good work done with these groups was a great source of joy to him. In lieu of flowers, Lew requested that donations be made to the Pleasant Valley Lions Club, the Salvation Army, or the American Cancer Society . A celebration of Lew's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, Freedom Hall at the Camarillo Airport, 515 Eubanks St., Camarillo. Arrangements are entrusted to Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, Camarillo; 482-1166. A private interment will be conducted at Bakersfield National Cemetery. |








Lewis (Lew) Borghi, born May 18, 1925, in Drifton, Pa., passed away at his home in Camarillo with his family by his side on May 1, 2010. Lew, a 45-year resident of Camarillo, will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched with his generous spirit and warm smile. Lew passed away with the knowledge and feeling that he and his family were blessed with sharing and loving relationships.
