Sister Mary Carlann was born on Oct. 5, 1945 in Highland, IL and was an excellent teacher and secondary school administrator. Family, friends and ministry gave her much enjoyment. Beginning in 1968 Sister was in ministry at St. Matthias High School in Huntington Park, Notre Dame Academy in West Los Angeles, St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura and La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks. Sister Mary Carlann held the position of Religion Coordinator of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 1990 to 1996. Since 1996 Sister Mary Carlann has been in ministry at Notre Dame Academy until last month, when complications from cancer made it necessary for her to move to Notre Dame Center, in Thousand Oaks, CA. Sister’s favorite pastimes include reading mystery stories, embroidery work and giving workshops and faculty retreats. Sister Mary Carlann is survived by her 95 year old mother, Fern Paganelli, of West Los Angeles; her sister Carla and spouse Niel Leveratt of Irvine, CA; her brother, Joseph Paganelli and spouse, Patti of Santa Clarita, CA; and nieces and nephews. A first visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 6 – 7 pm with a service starting at 7 pm and Rev. Joseph Shea presiding, at 1776 Hendrix Ave. Thousand Oaks, CA, A second visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22 from 9 – 10 am, with a service starting at 10 am and Rev. James Barnes presiding , at St. Joan of Arc Church, 11534 Gateway Blvd. Los Angeles, 90064. A burial will take place following this service at Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi Valley. |








Sister Mary Carlann (Lynne Paganelli), age 64, of Los Angeles, CA went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 15 after a 14 year battle with renal failure.
