Pat was born in Omagh, Northern Ireland, on May 21, 1928 to Michael J. Walsh and Elizabeth Kearns. His parents and four sisters predeceased him. In 1935 his family moved to Covington, Huntingdon, Cambs. England, and later to Kimbolton, Cambs. After graduating from Kimbolton High School he apprenticed in an Accounting Firm in London. After the war he was inducted into the British Army and served in Singapore. Returning home he met a beautiful German girl who had come to England to work, Eva Mirschfeld. They were married in 1950 and since he could not get into the United States, they migrated to Canada. Pat worked as an accountant for Ford Motor Company while furthering his studies in accounting winning Canada's Gold Medal. In 1959, to fulfill his dream, Pat and Eva with their four children, moved to California settling first in Torrance and then West Hills where their fifth child was born. Pat worked for Packard Bell until 1970 when he left to work for Space Labs. When the corporate office was transferred to Seattle, Pat moved the family to Sammamish, Wash. He retired as CFO in 1993 and with Eva traveled the globe until her death in November of 1997. In 1998 he came south to meet Adele Flynn Stuebing and they were married in October 1999. Patrick, also known as "Papa", is survived by his wife, Adele; sister, Claire Scheer of South Carolina; brother, Jimmy Walsh of Toronto, Canada; and his children, Sheila, Patrick (Janis), Michael (Donna), Sammamish, Wash., Mark (Yvonne) of Kirkland, Wash., and Tim (Leslie) San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; stepdaughters, Debbie Thiessen (Jim), Theresa (Steve) Mason; stepsons, Albert (Rosemary), Michael (Karen), Chris (Rebecca), Rob (Karen) Stuebing; and fifteen step-grandchildren. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 17 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapel, 1075 Daily Drive, Camarillo, and a funeral mass at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd., Friday, June 18 at 11 a.m. His final resting place will be in Washington. A celebration of his life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Las Posas Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to St. Mary Magdalen School, Livingston Memorial Hospice, Pleasant Valley Historical Society or the Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research at UCLA. |








Patrick J. Walsh died peacefully Sunday, June 13, 2010 of Parkinson Lewy Body.
