| Samantha Lynn Muldoon |
|
Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Samantha had touched in some small way, throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Samantha's life would seem to short to many, but for those who were touched by her, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. Although Samantha's illness made her appear small, she possessed strength, perseverance, the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage, she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She could spend hours laying in her mama and dada's arms, cuddling with them. She enjoyed playing with her cookie jar, sitting up on her mat and sitting at her desk like a big girl. She loved playing with her big brother Michael in his room, in the playroom or anywhere else that he may be. With Samantha's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated, although we miss her everyday, especially her winning smile, she will always remain forever in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents. We are so thankful Samantha's brother met his sister and he will hold a dear memory of Samantha's gentle spirit. Samantha leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Samantha's love extends to her wonderful dialysis nurses, Alice, Evelyn, Leti, Susanna, and Joanne, her primary NICU nurses Michelle and Lita, her primary PICU nurse Michele, her pediatrician nurses Nancy and Liz, her nephrology doctors, Dr. Grushkin, Dr Johnson, Dr. Lerner and Dr. Lemley, and her pediatrician Dr. Lin and Dr. Rao. There is a special place in our hearts for Samantha's best friend, Dr. Stern, because of her continual dedication, love and support; Samantha was able to survive some of her toughest medical challenges. She will be dearly missed by all her special caregivers at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and at Childrens Medical Group in Camarillo. All of these special people, too numerous to mention provided Samantha with love and dignity in her life and also in her death. Samantha is survived by her loving parents, Jason and Trisha Muldoon; Big Brother Michael Muldoon; Paternal Grandparents John and Kathy Muldoon; Maternal Grandparents Andy and Pam Murphy; Uncles Christian, John, Cody and Nick; Aunts Dawn, Emily, Keily, Kori and Brianna; Cousin Camron. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday August 29, 2010 at 11a.m. at her Maternal Grandparents house (this is where Samantha's dad and mom were married) 235 Calle Portilla, Camarillo, Ca 93010. A Memorial fund has been set up in Samantha's name at Santa Barbara Bank and Trust (2310 E. Ponderosa Dr. Camarillo, Ca 93010) under Samanta Lynn Muldoon Memorial Fund. What is left after all her final expenses will be donated to the ARPKD Alliance in her name. |
