Went to be with the Lord on Sept. 4, 2010 at the age of 65. He was a 25 year resident of Newbury Park. He passed away quietly in his sleep.

David was born to George and Helen LaPerche in Providence, R.I., on Feb. 14, 1945. After graduating from Cranston High School, David married his high school sweetheart, Jane Travers, on April 29, 1966. Shortly after his marriage to Jane he attended R.I. Radio and Electronics School and graduated at the top of his class. After college David excelled at several companies one of which moved him out to Newbury Park.

David is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, David of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Christopher of Newbury Park; daughter, Laurie of Thousand Oaks; eight grandchildren; and sister, Winifred Borra of Bethesda, Md.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapel in Thousand Oaks
