Aaron died on Sept. 5, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer.

He was born on July 6, 1922 in Bayonne, N.J., to Sam and Lena Weiss. He spent most of his childhood in New York City. He graduated from Stuyvensant High School and CCNY. He spent five years in the military and while stationed in Paterson, N.J., met and married Selma Nadell. They were married for 66 years and had four sons, Dan, Dick, Dave and Don. He was a CPA and worked in private practice before entering the IRS. He retired in 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Selma; sons, Dan (Robin), Richard and Don (Judy); 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

His son David predeceased him in 1975 when the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in Lake Superior. He was studying to be a pilot on the Great Lakes. He was the only cadet from the school who was ever lost on the lakes.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 10 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 10 at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura
