| Shinn, John Baker |
|
John B. Shinn has a rich history as a World War II veteran, boxer, contributor to the first moon landing, and made a positive impact on countless people's lives. He had such a gentle, charming smile and a glimmer in his eyes that reflected only youth, light and pure goodness. All those who speak of him say only words of love and respect. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Doris, grandchildren; Augie, Cole, Julian and Alisa, stepchildren; Christine, Jeff and Sahni, great-grandchildren Thomas and Ethan, niece Binky. "When you look at the moon," John once said , "Think of me." Arrangements under the direction of Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, Thousand Oaks; phone 230-2800 |

John Baker Shinn can simply yet powerfully be described as the sole definition of a good man. A gentle man who spoke his love not through words , but through actions. Loving husband, father to many, and a wonderful grandfather. He was among the last of a dying breed of people who lived in an age of rich culture that spoke volumes of hard work, honor and family value. He was a shining pillar in our family who set examples of integrity, tolerance, and genuineness.
