Newbury Park, CA
Cheryl Armstrong-Turner our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed peacefully in her home on September 9, 2021.
Her passion for education led her to obtaining a master’s degree at both UCLA and UC Irvine and starting a doctoral program in Educational Management at Hampton University. She enjoyed her career in counseling and retired as a professor in counseling and the Director of the Transfer Center at Los Angeles Community College in 2013.
Those who knew Cheryl knew she was most proud of her family. Her friends were also very dear to her. She had many close friendships including wonderful neighbors and the congregation at the Kingdom Hall. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed showering them with love.
Cheryl is survived by her daughter Stacy (Melvin) Morris; grandchildren Ethan and Ellie Morris; brothers Raymond David Armstrong and William Joel Armstrong; nieces; nephews; and many loved friends and neighbors.
Cheryl would have wanted to thank those who knew and loved her over the years. She is now in God’s loving arms and may her bright light continue to shine and may she always dance. A small celebration of Cheryl’s life will take place on October 9, 2021 in Ventura, CA.
No gifts or flowers are required for Cheryl’s memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
“Your presence we miss, your memories we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.”
We love and miss you Mommy.
